The presentation will cover recent cases and statutory developments from the past three months of 2025 relevant to workers compensation subrogation. For the focus topic at this roundtable, we will examine how recent developments in vehicle blind spot technologies, and the failure of trucking and truck rental companies to adopt these technologies, opens new avenues for investigation of motor vehicle accidents involving trucks and vans and expanded opportunities for third party liability.

Meet your presenters, Greg McNamee and Luis Chiarelli.

Gregory M. McNamee is a litigator who concentrates his practice in products liability and construction matters. He is a partner at Devine Timoney Law Group, with significant experience representing workers’ compensation carriers in subrogation lawsuits throughout the country, often involving catastrophic loss. Greg is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and Boston College Law School. He has been designated as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2015 and 2016, and a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for the years 2018-2019 and 2022-2025.

Luis Chiarelli is a product liability litigator with experience handling complex machinery defect cases, automotive defect cases, workplace safety incidents, and catastrophic job site injuries. He is actively involved in investigating incidents—conducting site inspections, interviewing witnesses, and working closely with technical experts to identify liability issues early, when catastrophic events first occur. Luis regularly represents insurers in high-exposure litigation involving industrial equipment, construction tools, and large-scale vehicles. His work includes developing liability theories, coordinating expert inspections, analyzing industry and technological trends, and litigating claims from initial investigation through trial.
