How to Configure Special Event Template

Welcome to the Special Event Template Guide!

Use the information below to configure each piece of your Event's page.

How to set up each part of your Event Template:

Copy the Page Templates

  1. Go to "Edit Navigation"
  2. Under the "ADMIN" tab, Click the + next to "Special Event Template ..."
  3. On the page labeled "Special Event - Homepage" click the ellipsis to copy the page
  4. When prompted, update the name of your event page as desired and ensure the checkbox to include "child" pages is checked.
    • This will make a copy of each page needed to create the special event page
  5. Now, we need to update our page codes/URLs for each page
    • Use easy to understand naming conventions when possible
    • To help with future steps, paste these page codes on a notepad or sticky note
  6. Once these are all updated and published, now we will start configuring content and resetting each syndicated page to look for the correct items.

Update the Copied Page Codes

Now that each page has been copied, let's update the page codes in the navigation:

  1. Click through each of your new pages and update:
"Special Event" to your event name in the page titles
"event-name" in the page code and URL's to your desired page code name - delete the little numbers after if you would like for consistency
  2. Publish each page as you go to save each update

  • Helpful Tip

Use a text file to keep a note of your page code names. We will need them for the next step in the setup process.

Vertical Tabs

Each vertical tab link in the sidebar's HTML content item will coincide with a row located in the right content row.

  • Update the tab names as needed but leave the links as they are.
  • You can add additional tabs to this list!
Make a copy of an existing row, update the number in the CSS Wrapper text box for the row, and then add a link to the list in the sidebar for this new section.
    ex.Class name: tab4 > tab5

Note

Copying the special event template will sometimes scramble and rearrange content on the copied page if there are multiple HTML blocks in a singular row.

  • If this happens, put the announcement first and then each day in respective order.
  • Schedule layout rows will never rearrange
